Frequently Asked Questions: Booking, Session, & Delivery
How do I book a photography session, and how early in advance should I book?
Simple! All you need to do is go to the ABOUT ME for the contact me on the bottom to fill out a form, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible to get you scheduled! I suggest scheduling at least 2 weeks in advance to ensure that the date you desire will be available and you have time to prepare for the session. Please note that a contract must be signed and the retainer will be due upon booking to reserve your date and time.
How long do sessions last, how many deliverables, and what is the typical turnaround time?
This would all depend on the specific needs of your particular session. Some headshot sessions last 30 minutes while beauty sessions can last a few hours! Turnaround time is typically 1-2 weeks. Please contact me with as many details that you can give me regarding your shoot and I will be happy to answer these questions for you specifically!
Do you provide hair and makeup services?
I work with a number of very talented hair and makeup artists. If you need hair and makeup done for your photo shoot, I can do the booking for you so you don't need to plan it yourself! If you have an idea of how you want to look, feel free to send over photos or links to any inspiration!
I have my own hair/makeup artist. Can I bring her/him/them with me instead?
If you have a long-term relationship working with a particular hair or makeup artist, it's no problem! Just have them come to create the look in-studio before your shoot. On the other hand, if you are thinking about hiring someone you’ve never worked with before, please make sure to speak with me first. The hair and makeup skills needed for studio or any flash photography is different than a hair and makeup look created for anything else. I want to be absolutely sure that the stylists you book will make a great end result for you.
Can I bring my friend/spouse/partner/parent to come with me during the shoot?
Sometimes bringing someone you know can help you feel more comfortable. Just keep in mind that this day is all about you, and you don't want ANY distractions or interruptions that day of your shoot! Also, sometimes bringing a friend can potentially make you even more nervous! If you'd like, you can choose to bring them in while you get ready, and then can shoot the session alone.
What if I need my photos the same day we shoot?
I can provide digitals the same day, but not prints at this time. If you need your digitals fast: Right after your session, we will break for about an hour. You can grab lunch while I review your photos in the studio. When you're done with lunch, you can choose what photos you love before you leave! The final digitals will be sent to you by 11:59pm the same day as your shoot, and your prints will arrive at my studio at the soonest possible date for you to pick up at your earliest convenience.
What types of prints do you offer? Can I print my own?
I offer prints, framed prints, albums, folio boxes, and canvas wraps. The luxury products I offer use high quality, archival inks and papers so that they will last over 100 years without fading. Every purchased print will come with the digital image as well. After purchasing an image, you may print additional on your own if you'd like, but if you're looking for professional quality that lasts, I recommend ordering the prints from me!
Do you give out any discounts?
I can only give discounts for 1 of the 3 reasons: 1. REFERRALS. If you refer someone who books me, you’ll receive 10% off either your upcoming shoot or your next shoot. 2. REGULAR CLIENTS. If we shoot on a regular or scheduled basis, we can arrange to shoot at a discounted rate in exchange for our ongoing professional relationship! 3. ANNOUNCEMENTS. Any discounts formally announced on my website and on social media! In an effort not to cheapen, weaken, or rush your session, I cannot discount under any other circumstance!
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule? What happens with my session fee payment?
If you need to cancel, please give at least 48 hours notice before your shoot, you will have one opportunity to apply your retainer to a rescheduled date within the same month. If a session is cancelled last minute, I will not be able to replace the lost session with another client. For that reason, if you cancel within 48 hours of your shoot, I cannot transfer or refund what has been paid. Retainers non-refundable. If you have an extreme or special circumstance within those 48 hours, please let me know!
